Head Chef (Faro, Portugal) We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to join our team at a busy and well-established restaurant in Faro, Portugal.
As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, creating menus, managing inventory and food costs, and ensuring high-quality dishes are consistently served to our customers.
Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of the kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation.
Create and update menus according to seasonality and customer preferences.
Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate records of stock levels.
Control food costs by minimizing waste and utilizing ingredients effectively.
Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure quality standards are met.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
Collaborate with restaurant management to develop new ideas for menu items or special events.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant.
In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
Ability to create innovative menus while also maintaining traditional dishes.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.
Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Culinary degree or equivalent experience as a professional chef.
Food safety certification is preferred.
Fluent in English (Portuguese language skills are a plus).
