About The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of financial controlling from the ground up, as Utopia operates across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
You'll build financial processes on new projects, ensure the accuracy of accounting operations, and own timely reporting and financial controls across the business.
Responsibilities Oversee and manage accounting operations for several Utopia entities across different jurisdictions.
Build financial controlling processes from scratch where none currently exist, and refine them as the business grows.
Design, implement, and continuously improve internal financial control procedures.
Own monthly financial reporting across entities.
Manage and support external audits end-to-end.
Collaborate closely with the CEO and Head of Finance on finance-related matters.
Manage external consultants and legal advisors to keep filings and controls on track.
Requirements 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial control, or treasury, including IFRS.
Proven, hands-on experience building financial controlling processes from the ground up — not just maintaining existing ones.
Deep technical knowledge of accounting principles, beyond operational execution.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Fast learner, comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and often ambiguous environment.
Able to manage external consultants and legal advisors effectively.
Fluent English.
Nice To Have
Big 4 experience.
ACCA (professional level papers completed or near-completed).
Russian — upper-intermediate or higher.
